What is Hair Transplant ?

Hair Transplant is a half day procedure which gives permanent replacement of lost hair with new hair roots, that grow forever. These can be cut, washed and treated like your own hair. Repeated visits to the clinic are not required for any further care. Hair loss that does not respond to treatment or has progressed beyond grade III requires replacement with new growing hair, which is done by Follicular Hair Transplant.

Use of punches and single hair grafts are outdated. Hair grows in natural units of 1, 2 or 3 hairs. These natural units are maintained in the latest follicular micro grafting technique. This gives a robust, hair growth. If these units are separated and implanted as single hair, they give poor growth. Follicular unit grafts (FUT) avoid, clumpy appearance of punches and the thin look of single hair.

Under local anesthesia, the donor hair grafts are harvested from a strip of skin taken from the area between two years. The strip is divided into small units of skin (grafts), each containing one to three hairs as the follicular units.

Because the hair on the permanent horseshoe is genetically programmed to grow in a lifetime, it will continue to grow even through it has been transplanted to a different site. This is medical fact, and has been repeatedly proven for more than 35 years.

The surgery is done under local anesthesia. It may take 4-8 hours. Patient is discharged on the same evening and advised to rest for 1-3 days. Follow up for suture removal is requires at 7 to 10 days. Suture-less FOX technique is available for suitable patients.

The discomfort associated with hair transplantation surgery is usually comparable to that of dental surgery. Pain medication is always offered, through its use is limited generally to the first 24 hours after surgery.

Your newly restored hair will grow and require the same maintenance as your original head of hair. It(s) your hair and can be washed, colored, and trimmed any way you choose.

Baldness is a progressive disorder. Hair on the front and top of the head is lost because it is hormone dependent. Hair on the sides and lower back does not have hormone receptors. This hair is retained till the age of 60 to lifetime. Plastic surgeons transfer the person own hair roots from the long-lasting area to the bald area.

Follicular micro grafts can be used in between thinning hair in men and women for adding density. Our team can cover a large area in a single sitting. 1000-2000 grafts can be done at one time & even a maximum of 3000 FUT can be done in one sitting.

The area from where the grafts are taken is closed (Sutured) so no bald patch is ever seen.

The micro grafts are paced in the bald area with injection needle pricks to make sure there is minimal scarring. The grafts start growing with the next hair cycle and keep on growing thereafter. At 3-6 months it gives good density.
